SUMMARY:
The Director, FP&A will work collaboratively across the organization providing commercial, operational, and analytical support to a designated business segment. Reporting directly to the VP, Finance for the respective business, the Director, FP&A will be a integral part of the finance team to evaluate and communicate the impact on key performance indicators and strategic initiatives.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director, FP&A is responsible for:
- Leading the forecasting and budgeting process of the designated business unit.
- Analyzing key operational and business trends and understanding related risk.
- Preparing finance models for analysis.
- Working collaboratively across the business unit and Finance function to meet desired goals and objectives.
- Presenting key materials to senior leadership.
- Ensuring all financial transactions, systems, and procedures comply with regulations, accounting principles and standards.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a related field; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE
8-10 years management experience which include audit, GAAP accounting principles, regulatory reporting and a high level of financial systems including system development and implementations.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY
Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint; familiar with current financial or cash management software and demonstrated project management skills and/or involvement with a financial system implementation process.
COMPETENCIES
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to prepare, monitor and administer budgets, as well as the ability to perform financial analysis. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting assigned deadlines. Ability to develop, improve and streamline processes to meet established goals and objectives. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to mentor, coach, train and/or supervise employees. Knowledge of data analysis techniques and methodology. Knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices of accounting, budgeting and cost control procedures. Knowledge of and ability to apply the concepts, principles and practices of change management.
OTHER:
CPA/MBA preferred.
