⚐ ⚑ ⚑ Financial Controller Chase Street compensation: Part Time 2-3 days per week employment type: experience level: mid level job title: Financial Controller Position Overview We are seeking a highly capable and self-driven Controller to take full ownership of our company’s financial operations. As the only accounting professional on our team, this role combines high-level financial strategy with hands-on bookkeeping duties. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing multiple entities, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has the technical savvy to leverage AI tools and platforms for increased efficiency. Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Oversight
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger across multiple entities
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Prepare internal financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
- Record and review payroll entries
- Manage intercompany billing and ensure accuracy and timeliness Bookkeeping & Transactional Duties
- Enter accounts payable, including construction-related expenses, with correct coding
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements monthly
- Maintain vendor records and ensure timely payments
- Manage QuickBooks workflows and rules for optimal data integrity
- Identify and correct accounting discrepancies Administrative Support
- Prepare and maintain personal financial records for the company founder
- Coordinate with external accountants and tax professionals
- Support the CEO in financial decision-making
- Handle additional accounting tasks as needed Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred)
- 5+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, ideally in a small business environment
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks; familiarity with other software (e.g., Xero, FreshBooks) a plus
- Deep understanding of GAAP and full-cycle bookkeeping
- Must be technically advanced and proficient in AI tools and platforms
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
