Establishes and maintains the accounting systems, procedures and policies. Directs analysis and reporting of financial information including planning, taxes, and required filings and reports. Presents findings and recommendations to management.
Essential Functions:
Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions Implements internal control policies and procedures for all financial activities. Oversees employee training programs and identifies training needs. Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements Collaborates with external auditors to provide information needed for the annual audit. Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes Evaluating accounting and internal control systems Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed Developing and monitoring business performance metrics Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff Other related functions as assigned by management
Qualifications:
Possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required Five years or more of related experience required. CPA designation highly preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent and highly accurate math and accounting skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, and specialized accounting software used by the organization (NetSuite experience preferred).
