Controller Position Available In Hillsborough, Florida

Description We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting operations and support strategic financial decisions for a company located in the vibrant and growing Tampa Bay region. This Hybrid position will oversee all aspects of the company’s accounting and financial reporting processes, ensure regulatory compliance, and support executive leadership with insights to drive business performance. This is a key leadership role responsible for building and managing a high-performing accounting team and implementing efficient, scalable financial systems.

Requirements Key Responsibilities:

+ Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, AR/AP, payroll, fixed assets, and tax compliance. + Lead the month-end and year-end close process and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. + Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and variance analysis. + Prepare internal financial reports and deliver insights to the executive team to support business decision-making. + Ensure internal controls and procedures are followed and updated regularly. + Coordinate and manage external audits, tax filings, and banking relationships. + Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. + Evaluate and implement systems, tools, and processes to streamline accounting operations. + Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred). + CPA designation strongly preferred. + 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or Controller-level role. + Strong technical accounting knowledge (GAAP), financial reporting, and compliance experience. + Proficient in accounting and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, SAP, or similar). + Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. + Proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire teams. + Experience working in a fast-paced or growing environment preferred.
