Position Summary As a key member of the executive leadership team, the Finance Director is a strategic advisor and hands-on financial expert responsible for leading all aspects of the Club’s fiscal management. This visible and influential leader provides vision, integrity, and accountability for accounting operations, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and financial planning. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

            Strategic Leadership :

            Collaborate with the General Manager, Board of Directors, and Finance Committee to shape financial strategy, policies, and operational goals that support the Club’s vision and long-term growth.

              Financial Reporting & Planning:

              Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly and annual statements, budget forecasts, P&Ls, and financial models.

                Treasury & Risk Management:

                Oversee cash flow, investments, debt management, insurance policies, and compliance to safeguard assets and optimize financial performance.

                  Oversight of Accounting Operations:

                  Supervise accounting staff and membership administrator to ensure efficient billing, collections, reconciliations, and data integrity.

                    Capital Planning:

                    Manage capital budgets, project costing, and long-term asset planning to support ongoing facility improvements and upgrades.

                      Compliance & Controls:

                      Ensure adherence to GAAP standards, regulatory compliance, and club bylaws; oversee internal audits and financial controls.

                        Technology & Systems :

                        Lead financial systems initiatives, including software recommendations and upgrades that streamline reporting and support decision-making.

                          Member Relations:

                          Act as the point of contact for member billing inquiries and financial transactions, delivering exceptional service with professionalism.

                            Human Resources Collaboration :

                            Participate in benefits planning, retirement plan fiduciary duties, and payroll-related financial responsibilities. Physical Demands

                            • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
                            • Occasional lifting and moving of items up to 50 pounds. Minimum Qualifications
                            • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business management (with an emphasis on finance); and ten years of related experience in financial management with a country club, sports facility, or hospitality setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
                            • Maintains affiliations in appropriate professional associations to remain current in the profession.
                            • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Jonas Club Software, POS and other industry specific software at least at an Intermediate level.
                            • Attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to stay organized and efficient. Preferred Qualifications
                            • Ten years of experience as a finance director in a country club, sports facility, or hospitality setting.
