Leadership Accounting Full Job Description Job Summary:
Big Bend Hospice, Inc . is seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting team and oversee all financial operations. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will manage general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, cash forecasting, reconciliations, and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee month-end/year-end processes, journal entries, and financial statement preparation. Conduct account analysis, reconciliations, and ensure accurate fixed asset control. Coordinate annual audits and Medicare Cost Report preparation. Drive process improvements, maintain fiscal records, and support annual budget planning. Lead and mentor accounting staff to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of finance experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial software, and ERP systems. Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to communicate effectively and adapt to changing business needs.
