Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join a Real Estate development organization. The Assistant Controller will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and assisting with financial analysis. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting, financial management, and a solid understanding of property management and construction industry practices.

Responsibilities:
Financial Management:

Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts. Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, industry regulations, and internal policies. Manage cash flow, accounts payable and receivable, and monitor financial transactions.

General Accounting:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes. Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial audits.

Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare regular financial reports and statements for management review. Analyze financial data to identify areas of improvement and provide recommendations. Assist with the development of financial models, forecasts, and projections. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information for reporting purposes.

Compliance and Internal Controls:

Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal control procedures. Identify potential risks and propose solutions to mitigate them. Support external audits and participate in the preparation of audit documentation.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency. Recommend and implement improvements to accounting systems and procedures. Develop and maintain standardized accounting policies and procedures. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in the property management or construction industry. Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices. Proficient in financial analysis, financial modeling, and budgeting. Strong knowledge of relevant accounting software and tools Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
