Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of our group of financial service companies. This individual will play a key role in financial reporting, strategic planning, and operational efficiency, ensuring the continued financial health and compliance of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant financial regulations.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Monitor cash flow and develop financial strategies to optimize business performance.
- Utilize QuickBooks to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Set up financial reporting and monitoring of cash flows for new entities.
- Enhance the financial reporting of the collections of receivables, implementing checks and balances to work in tandem with the IT collection platform and developing KPIs
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Provide financial insights to senior management to drive business decision-making.
- Support the executive team with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- CPA certification is mandatory.
- 2 to 5 years of post-qualified experience in a financial controller or similar role, preferably within financial services.
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and financial management software.
- Deep understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative (self-starter).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage complex receivables recovery processes.
Preferred Attributes:
Prior experience working in a multi-entity financial services environment. Familiarity with tax planning and financial compliance requirements in Florida.
