POSITION OVERVIEW

The Assistant Controller will play a key role in overseeing full-cycle accounting operations and supporting the Controller with financial reporting, audits, and daily accounting functions. This position is ideal for a Senior Accountant with hospitality or country club experience who is ready to take the next step in their career.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ASSISTANT CONTROLLER

Manage full-cycle accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end close.
Prepare financial statements and support internal and external audits.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and established accounting policies.
Support payroll processing and member billing functions.
Collaborate with department heads on budget tracking and reporting.
Provide leadership and support to accounting team staff as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS FOR THE ASSISTANT CONTROLLER

5+ years of accounting experience.
Full-cycle accounting experience is required.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
Experience in a country club, resort, or hotel setting is required.
Proficiency with accounting software and Excel.
Strong communication and organizational skills.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS FOR THE ASSISTANT CONTROLLER

Experience with Jonas or similar club/hospitality accounting systems.
Supervisory or team leadership experience.
CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
