We areseeking a dynamic, highly-skilled Controller to join our team inthe construction industry. This individual will play a crucial rolein the financial management of our company, ensuring that ourfinancial operations are running efficiently and effectively. Thesuccessful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspectsof financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatoryand financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as wellas the development of internal control policies and procedures.

This role requires a high level of strategic thinking, leadership,and advanced knowledge of financial management within theconstruction industry.

Responsibilities:

Oversee all companyaccounting practices, including accounting departments, preparingbudgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions. Directfinancial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring withPresident, VP and department heads on strategic growth. Study,analyze and report on trends, opportunities for expansion andprojection of future company growth. Direct the preparation of allfinancial reports, including income statements, balance sheets,reports to shareholders, tax returns, and reports for governmentregulatory agencies. Review reports to analyze projections of salesand profit against actual figures, budgeted expenses against finaltotals, and suggests methods of improving the planning process asappropriate. Confer with the President and department heads tocoordinate and prioritize planning. Oversee the investment of fundsand manage associated risks, supervise cash management activities,execute capital-raising strategies to support a firm’s expansion,and deal with mergers and acquisitions. Guide financial decisionsby establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.

Provide strategic management of the accounting and financefunctions. Direct accounting policies, procedures, and internalcontrols. Recommend improvements to ensure the integrity of acompany’s financial information. Manage or oversee the relationshipwith independent audit firm(s) and manage comprehensive audits ofcompany accounts and financial transactions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Aminimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the constructionindustry. Proven experience in financial forecasting and diagnosis,corporate finance and information analysis. Well informed incurrent financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, money market andbusiness environments. A proven track record of success in managingand directing financial functions, including forecasting and jobcosting. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate andmanage well at all levels of the organization. Strong problemsolving and creative skills and the ability to exercise soundjudgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.

High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense ofurgency and results-orientation. CPA or CMA certification ispreferred. Interested in hearing more?
