Proficiency in Excel, excellent oral and written communication skills 4.

Specific Requirements:

a. Must have demonstrated ability to create and prepare complex spreadsheets involving multiple sources of revenues and expense. b. Be able to analyze results of operations as well as productivity and efficiency. c. Have understanding of processes, policies and procedures and ability to evaluate and document as well as recommend improvements. d. Be able to manage a department with four staff members.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Controller directs accounting for the organization and prepares financial analyses of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, for the guidance of management. The Controller is responsible for implementing the company’s financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. The position involves supervision over general accounting, property accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, accounts payable, payroll, budgetary controls and HUD Properties.

POSITION DUTIES

I. Comply with all Center policies and procedures except those for which the employee gives notice of the need for reasonable accommodation and for which the Center can make such reasonable accommodation. 2. An employee in this position must be able to react to change productively and to handle other tasks as assigned. 3. Attend all scheduled work hours meetings, trainings, and other center functions, including on-call as required. 4. The policies and procedures of the Finance and Accounting Department are to be reviewed and revisions recommended as indicated. Major processes are to be evaluated and improvements implemented to maximize efficiencies. 5. Direct the preparation of all financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements, cash flow statements, tax returns, and reports for government and regulatory agencies. 6. Oversee accounting and finance departments, including accounts payable, payroll, HUD Properties and budget preparation. 7. Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions. 8. Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of divisions and departments. 9. Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget. 10. Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations. 11. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements. 12. Maintain company system of accounts and keep books and all company transactions and assets. 13. Furnish internal and external reports as required. 14. Direct financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements. 15. Implement effective financial and internal controls for the organization.

The work environment is fast-paced and consists of exposure to physical conditions typical of a normal office environment. The populations cared for will include patients who are confused, delusional, irrational, agitated, or uncooperative. Most of the job is performed while sitting, although the work may require occasional standing or walking and/or the lifting and carrying of small objects.
