Another 90 day contract will be offered if available after the first 90 days.

  • The goal is for this to be a perm position after roughly 5-6 months.
  • Starting pay is $75k Afterbeing hired on you will receive a pay bump up as much as $105k a year with excellent benefits.

  • Job Summary:
  • The Finance Director serves as the chief financial officer, responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, treasury, debt administration, and financial reporting.

The position ensures the companies financial practices adhere to state and local regulations, Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) requirements, and best practices for municipal government.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Direct and manage all financial operations (accounting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, utility billing, investments, and debt management)
  • Prepare and administer the annual budget in coordination with the Manager and department heads
  • Oversee the disbursement of funds and maintain internal controls to protect assets
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, and regulations
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the Commission and the Manager
  • Coordinate and oversee annual audits and implement recommendations as appropriate
  • Provide professional advice and recommendations on fiscal matters to the Manager, the Commission, and department directors
  • Develop, recommend, and implement financial policies and procedures
  • Supervise and evaluate Finance Department staff.
  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, public administration, business administration, or a related field required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO) required
  • At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in municipal or government finance, including supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of State of Florida Uniform Accounting Codes, GASB standards, and municipal budgeting practices
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Valid Florida driver’s license to operate company vehicle.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in accounting, business administration, or public administration
  • Experience with municipal enterprise funds and utility accounting.
