Job Description :

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Financial Controller is a critical role for the organization managing compliance, plant manufacturing costs, corporate and various tax and accounting responsibilities. The controller oversees a team of two financial analysts who control the entire P&L and Balance Sheet integrity and fulfill the reporting requirements of local and group management. Treasury and Ecommerce activities also offer the right person a chance to intimately see the business work from start to finish.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Accounting and general ledger responsibility, building out processes and compliance testing for financial controls. Partners with leadership to ensure the profitability of business activities with Sales, Purchasing, Manufacturing and other key functional areas to create accurate and timely reporting of business results. This includes leading the preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual reporting and business review packages for senior business leaders. Clearly communicates results, issues, trends and all other relevant financial issues to Management. Guides operations manager and business team leaders in decision making and actions, on a day-to-day as well as on a forecasting/planning basis. Completes annual and longer-range forecasts for the departments of the business. Develops, introduces and implements financial tools that drive key business metrics (margin management, freight costs, contract terms, inventory management, etc.). Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Special projects as assigned.

Position Requirements & Qualifications:

Education/Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required. CPA/CMA is strongly preferred with manufacturing experience. Skills Strong work ethic and enthusiasm to support a growing company Business acumen, strategic planning and decision making skills conducive to managing financial priorities and internal and external business conditions. Ability to think strategically, synthesize the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions. Leadership, team building and interpersonal skills. Strong customer and results orientation. Strong understanding of manufacturing and demonstrated knowledge in the areas of financial analysis. Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, Power BI). Excellent verbal, written and executive presentation skills. Knowledge/Experience 7+ years of combined leadership experience in finance is required. Cost Accounting preferred. JDE/Oracle preferred. Experience with preparation and filing of quarterly excise taxes is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Standard office environment in a temperature controlled office, with normal air contaminants, such as dust, typically found in an office setting. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc.) Position requires occasional, prolonged periods of standing and walking distances inside the plant. Type and read on a computer; communicate in person, on telephone, through written correspondence. May require standing, stooping, reaching, pushing and pulling. All offers of employment are conditioned upon successfully passing a drug test and background check.
