Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Accounting Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical accounting expertise, and the ability to provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities Financial Management & Reporting:

Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries. Develop and maintain internal financial reports for management.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

Lead the budgeting process, working closely with department heads to align financial goals. Monitor and report variances between actual results and budgeted expectations. Provide financial forecasting to support strategic planning.

Internal Controls & Compliance:

Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and accounting standards. Oversee audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting (e.g., IRS, state agencies). Implement and enforce accounting policies and procedures.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management:

Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financial investments. Optimize financial processes to improve working capital management.

Team Leadership & Development:

Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development. Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and efficiency within the accounting team. Work collaboratively with other departments to improve financial processes and transparency.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred). 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Experience in Facility Management and Real Estate Services industry.

Technical Proficiency:

Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax compliance. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Great Plains, Nexus, MRI etc.). Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyze complex financial data.

Leadership & Problem-Solving:

Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership abilities with experience managing teams. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Facility Management and Real Estate Services industry. Background in financial risk management and process improvement. Experience with ERP implementations or system upgrades.
