Interim Construction Controller – Lead Financial Strategy &Growth A growing construction firm is seeking an experiencedConstruction Controller to join its leadership team. This is anewly created role, offering an exciting opportunity for an InterimConstruction Controller to make a lasting impact on the company’sfinancial operations. Reporting directly to the CFO, the InterimConstruction Controller will oversee all accounting and financefunctions, ensuring financial accuracy, optimizing cost management,and driving strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities of the
Interim Construction Controller:
The Interim ConstructionController will lead the accounting and finance department ,overseeing general ledger management, cost accounting, payroll,accounts payable, accounts receivable, and budgeting. Establishfinancial and operational benchmarks, budgets, and reportingstandards to support business growth. Develop and implement jobcosting processes to enhance financial tracking and projectprofitability, a key responsibility of the Construction Controller. Conduct cost control reviews and implement strategies to optimizeproject financial performance. Ensure the accuracy of financialreporting and provide strategic insights to senior leadership asthe Interim Construction Controller. Maintain internal safeguardsfor revenue receipts, costs, budgets, and expenditures. Oversee thepreparation of forecasts, project budgets, and financial planningreports , which are essential to the role of an InterimConstruction Controller . The Interim Construction Controller willmanage, mentor, and develop accounting and finance staff to enhanceteam performance and efficiency. Ensure compliance with accountingstandards, audit requirements, and internal controls to maintainfinancial integrity. Qualifications for the
Interim ConstructionController:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, ora related field . Minimum 7 years of experience in a mid-to-seniorfinancial leadership role. Proven track record as a ConstructionController or similar financial leadership position in theconstruction or contracting industry . Strong experience infinancial project management , with expertise in streamliningaccounting processes. Demonstrated ability to develop cost controlsand financial tracking for large-scale projects, a vital functionof the Interim Construction Controller . Excellent leadershipskills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a finance team.
Advanced proficiency in Excel is required , including experiencewith complex formulas, data analysis, and financial modeling. Sage100 experience is preferred , with the ability to leverage ERPsystems for financial management and reporting.
