As a key leader on our team, the Controller will ensure the integrity of our financial reporting, optimize financial processes, and support strategic decision-making. This position requires a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and an in-depth understanding of the restaurant industry’s financial dynamics.

Key Responsibilities Financial Management & Reporting:

Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process. Maintain compliance with GAAP and other applicable financial regulations. Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights to senior management.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and multi-year financial plans for all restaurant locations. Monitor financial performance against budgets and identify areas for cost control and improvement.

Accounting Operations:

Supervise and manage all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory management. Ensure accurate and efficient processing of all financial transactions. Manage and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks.

Leadership:

Work closely with operations leaders to provide financial guidance and support for decision-making.

Compliance & Taxation:

Coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers to ensure timely and accurate filings. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including sales tax and payroll tax.

Strategic Support:

Analyze financial trends and provide recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.

Qualifications Education:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Required) CPA (Preferred)

Experience:

Minimum of 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience, in a Controller or similar leadership role (restaurant/hospitality industry experience highly preferred). Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.

Skills:

Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Restaurant365, etc.). Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling). Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
