Position:
Controller Scope:

Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, entering, reviewing, and reconciling transactions. Responsible for accurate monthly closes and an adjustment-free year-end audit. Works closely with Division Controller to maintain corporate CFA and all other reporting.

Summary of Position:

The Controller will play a key role in all accounting functions, including monthly close, financial statement production, and reconciliation. This role will interact with multiple departments and areas of the organization to explain and maintain financial statements according to generally accepted accounting principles.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments. Mange Month End Close process by maintaining the chart of accounts and processing monthly journal entries in accordance to Accounting Handbook. Consolidate monthly financials into the Business Intelligence platform (COGNOS). Work with other Plant Controllers to ensure intercompany balances tie. Financial Reporting and Analysis- Prepares internal reporting documents analyzing revenue, margin and variances to budgets/forecasts. Attend monthly internal meetings to present to various departments within the organization. Cash Management- maintain positive cash flow by managing all AP, AR, and other expenses while preparing cash forecasts for Division Controller. Act as lead in the annual budget process at the plant by interacting cross functionally to create buy in from all leaders while maintaining integrity of the financials. Work closely with other Plant Controllers to ensure all intercompany budgets are complete. Work closely with Plant Leadership to maintain metrics and KPI’s. Lead the team in development of actionable data that supports cost savings throughout the plant. Recommend and implement procedures to be better the system and make the analysis of information easier and more concise. Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts. Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts. Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes. Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data. Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential. Establish cost saving measures. Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed. Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly KPI’s and Metrics Manage 1 direct employee – Assistant Controller and 2 indirect – AP and AR Admins. Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance 5-7 years of accounting experience Advanced knowledge and Microsoft Excel Microsoft Dynamics NAV experience preferred Vendor and customer reconciliations experience Strict attention to detail, highly organized and efficient Strong written and verbal communication skills Must be a team player.

Work Environment:

Temperature Controlled Office. This is an onsite job and is NOT remote. Regular and predictive attendance is mandatory.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently walk and sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or listen. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
