This role will oversee all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate has a strong background in manufacturing or energy sector accounting and is capable of providing strategic financial insights to support business growth and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting operations, including general ledger, cost accounting, inventory, AR/AP, and payroll.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Oversee financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting.
- Develop and implement internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial risk, and recommend improvements as needed.
- Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to analyze product costing and margins.
- Coordinate year-end audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting with external CPA firms.
- Evaluate financial performance by tracking KPIs and identifying trends or cost-saving opportunities.
- Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Support leadership with financial insights to drive strategic decisions, pricing models, and capital investments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA strongly preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a controller or senior accounting role.
- Experience in the oil & gas, energy, or industrial manufacturing sectors is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics) and Excel.
- Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a hands-on approach.
