Summary:
The Division Controller oversees the financial accounting for the Southern region of the U.S., ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial reporting. This is an IN-office job with one day from home.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Accounting and Reporting
- Oversee financial accounting for three regions. Review and approve journals prepared by staff accountant. Prepare journals and financial reports as required. Internal Controls
- Ensure adherence to corporate internal control policies to safeguard assets and data integrity. Identify areas of exposure and recommend internal controls. Treasury Support
- Provide treasury support to monitor daily cash Financial Analysis
- Supports regional Finance Director to provide insight into performance metrics, variance analyses, and profitability Budgeting
- Supports the year planning process and delivers monthly variance reporting Audit support
- Provide annual bank audit and year-end financial audit support. Tax support
- Prepare monthly sales tax returns and request payments. Prepare annual property tax data requests working with the regional Finance Director and consultants on potential property tax savings. Respond to annual and year-end data requests for income tax filings. Fixed Asset Accounting and Capex Reporting
- Record and track assets, depreciation, sales and disposals.
Reconcile fixed assets ledgers to general ledger. Supervise one staff accountant Required Skills /
Abilities:
Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial reporting. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus Advanced Excel skills
Education & Experience:
BS degree in Accounting or related field if CPA Five years or more with large CPA firm or large corporate entity Certified Public Accountant designation highly preferred Some Supervisory experience required Multi-location company experience preferred
