Job Description
Controller Foret Contracting Group, LLC. Thibodaux, LA 70301 Job Summary The Controller is responsible for overseeing the daily financial operations of the construction firm and ensuring the accuracy of financial reports, compliance with accounting standards, and effective internal controls. This role involves managing accounting functions, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support the company’s strategic goals and financial health. Key Responsibilities Financial Management
- Manage the staff responsible for daily accounting operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, fixed asset management, cash flow management and account reconciliations for multiple entities
- Prepare, analyze and present monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements to the Leadership Team
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly financial forecasts
- Support the personal and professional growth of the finance team by providing timely constructive feedback and performing annual evaluations Compliance and Controls
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Develop, implement and maintain internal controls in compliance with company policies and procedures across all functional areas
- Examine workflows for opportunities to improve operational and reporting efficiencies
- Ensure that all internal and external reporting deadlines are met Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA designation preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting/finance roles with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity
- Strong knowledge of construction industry accounting practices
- Proficient in Foundation and QuickBooks accounting software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
- High level of integrity and professionalism with a commitment to ethical financial management
