Job Description

Controller at Robert Half in Bangor, Maine, United States Job Description Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join a team on a long-term contract basis in Bangor, Maine. This role is crucial in managing and overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and driving sound financial decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial analysis, along with exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and oversee financial reports, including month-end closing processes and detailed financial analysis.
  • Develop and manage budgeting and forecasting processes to guide financial planning.
  • Monitor cash flow and create strategies to optimize financial resources.
  • Coordinate and support audit preparation to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Supervise accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Utilize accounting software systems, including Great Plains, to manage financial data effectively.
  • Generate reports using Crystal Reports to provide insights into financial performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to refine and improve financial processes.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and best practices across all operations. Requirements
  • Proven experience in accounting and financial management, including AP and AR functions.
  • Proficiency with accounting software systems, such as Great Plains.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Familiarity with Crystal Reports and its application in financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in audit preparation and compliance.
  • Solid understanding of cash flow management and financial analysis.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
