This position is responsible for overseeing financial processes—particularly those tied to grants—and will also serve as the primary lead on grant acquisition, tracking, compliance, and reporting. Working cross-departmentally, this role supports strategic growth by ensuring funding is pursued, managed, and reported with excellence. It allows the finance and development departments to focus on their core functions by owning grant-related tasks, strengthening operational efficiency, and maximizing mission impact. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Nonprofit Management, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in nonprofit finance, grant writing, or grant management
  • Demonstrated success in securing and managing public and private grants
  • Strong understanding of funder compliance, budgeting, and nonprofit financial practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial platforms (QuickBooks required)
  • Strong writing and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines
  • Collaborative mindset with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Familiarity with donor databases and grant tracking systems is a plus Key Responsibilities- Grants Management & Development Support
  • Identify and pursue public and private grant opportunities aligned with organizational priorities
  • Write and submit high-quality grant proposals, applications, and letters of intent
  • Manage a master grant calendar to ensure timely submissions and reporting
  • Serve as the lead point of contact with funders on select grant-related communications
  • Collaborate with finance and program teams to prepare accurate budgets and outcome narratives
  • Maintain organized grant records and documentation (proposals, award letters, reports, outcomes)
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with funder requirements, in partnership with program staff
  • Prepare and submit interim and final grant reports with appropriate financial and program data
  • Support the development team by preparing grant-related content for donor communications and stewardship reports
  • Track grant outcomes and success metrics to support storytelling and case-making efforts Financial Management & Oversight
  • Monitor grant balances and track expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgets
  • Submit reimbursement requests (e.g., 21CCLC, SOR) with complete and accurate documentation
  • Maintain financial tracking spreadsheets and generate monthly reports for internal departments
  • Assist in the development and forecasting of program and grant budgets
  • Support preparation for audits and ensure documentation readiness
  • Manage and process payroll for the organization, including verifying timecards, ensuring accurate grant coding, reviewing time-off requests, preparing reports for approval, and submitting payroll in a timely and accurate manner
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions as needed
  • Collaborate with Director of Finance on overall organizational financial strategy and reporting Collaboration & Internal Communication
  • Work closely with program teams to align financial tracking with program deliverables
  • Share monthly reports with Unit Directors, HR, and operations teams to support coordination
  • Assist with internal training around grant expectations, deadlines, and data needs
  • Serve as a connector between finance, programs, and development to ensure grant goals are met General Administration
  • Maintain up-to-date financial and grant records using QuickBooks, Excel, and cloud-based platforms
  • Participate in strategic planning and team meetings
  • Assist with other financial or development-related tasks as assigned Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often in a clean, non-smoking, heated and cooled office environment.
