Job Description
Newly Created Role / NE Suburb of Jackson / In-Office M-F / Salary up to $140k Assistant Controller will support the ?nancial operations of the division. This role will assist in managing accounting processes, ?nancial reporting, internal controls, and compliance while contributing to process improvements, special projects, and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate has a strong background in retail ?nancial management, inventory accounting, and multi-location operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual ?nancial statements in accordance with
U.S. GAAP.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and ?nancial modeling to support strategic decision-making. Monitor key ?nancial metrics, including sales performance, inventory costs, and pro?t margins across multiple retail locations. Accounting Operations Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes. Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing for retail operations. Internal Controls & Compliance Implement and enforce strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with ?nancial regulations. Assist in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and supporting inquiries. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in ?nancial reporting and operations. Quali?cations &
Skills :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (CPA or CMA preferred). 5+ years of progressive accounting/?nance experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
