Position at Hood Industries, Inc. The Vice President of Finance (VP – Finance) is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the organization. This role will drive financial strategy, planning, and reporting, ensuring the organization achieves its financial objectives while maintaining financial health and operational efficiency. The VP of Finance will collaborate closely with other executive leaders to provide strategic insights and recommendations, managing the overall financial performance of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Planning:
Lead the development of the company’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and growth targets.
Oversee long-term financial planning and forecasting, providing clear financial goals and actionable insights.
Develop and implement financial models to support business decision-making and future growth.
Serve as a core member of the executive leadership team, actively participating in strategic planning and decision making.
Serve as a core fiduciary member of the Welfare & Retirement Plan benefit committee.
Financial Management & Reporting:
Oversee multiple financial disciplines, including operational finance, corporate accounting, reporting, credit, asset management, and insurance programs. Supervise financial reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in accordance with relevant accounting standards and regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
Manage relationships with external auditors and financial institutions.
Provide strategic financial analysis to inform key business decisions, including budgeting, cash flow, and capital investment.
Present financial reports and key metrics to the President and other senior executives.
Budgeting and Performance Monitoring:
Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to prepare, analyze, and review budgets.
Monitor performance against budget and forecasts, identifying trends, variances and opportunities for improvement.
Risk Management:
Oversee the company’s risk management framework, identifying financial and operational risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and financial obligations.
Manage the company’s property and casualty insurance programs, ensuring appropriate coverage, renewals, and alignment with business risk.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture that encourages collaboration and continuous improvement.
Build strong relationships across departments to promote financial discipline and accountability at all levels of the organization.
Identify talent gaps, provide coaching, and manage team development to improve financial performance.
Mergers, Acquisitions, and Investment Analysis:
Lead due diligence and financial modeling for mergers, acquisitions, and investment opportunities.
Ensure alignment of financial strategies during corporate restructuring or growth initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (required). MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 10+ years in finance leadership roles, with at least 5 years in a senior executive capacity.
Experience with a manufacturing company preferred.
Proven experience managing large teams and overseeing complex financial operations within a mid-to-large-sized company.
Strong background in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
Experience in mergers and acquisitions is a plus.

Strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Proficiency in financial software tools and ERP systems (EPICOR would be a plus).
