Position Summary:
Seeking an experienced Controller to provide technical support for our daily financial operations. This role will perform a variety of tasks related to financial transactions, including accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), payroll, maintaining financial records. The Controller will be responsible for compiling data, generating routine financial reports, and ensuring the accuracy of our financial information.
Responsibilities:
Administer general accounting, financial, and statistical reporting functions in accordance with established policies and procedures. Manage day-to-day activities and entries within QuickBooks Online accounting software Interface between QuickBooks Online, Square, HubSpot, and other software’s to deliver accurate reporting on the business Carry out monthly closing process and maintain accurate set of books Audit transactions and journal entries to ensure accuracy and proper accounting policies Assist in documentation of policies and procedures as necessary with expanding the scope of the accounting function Monitor financial performance to ensure fiscal responsibilities are fulfilled. Prepare cash flow analyses and monitor financial performance, offering recommendations for improvement. Direct the preparation of internal financial reports, including work papers for corporate tax returns. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports that reflect the company’s financial position. Compile and present monthly financial statements to leadership Analyze and explore opportunities to reduce operating costs and increase revenues based on market trends and financial reports. Oversee customer invoices, process payments, and review vendor invoices for accuracy. Reconcile credit card statements and track transactions through the centralized financial system. Provide support to various departments regarding invoices, receipts, financial reports, and other transactions, collaborating as necessary to achieve common reporting goals using different data sources. Lead team to meet objectives and maintain sense of urgency around maintaining an accurate set of books, coaching and levying experience to improve team’s ability and confidence Handle other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. CPA or Master’s Degree strongly preferred. A minimum of 3 years of experience at the Controller level, with progressive management experience Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach, an ability to work effectively as part of a team . Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods, using a computer and other office equipment.
- Travel may be required for industry events, meetings, and site visits (10-20%).
