Job Description:
SUMMARY:

The Financial Controller oversees all accounting operations for assigned surgery centers, including managing accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, and other documentation requirements as part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process. The role serves as the primary point of contact for all accounting/finance related matters and ensures timely, accurate financial reporting to support business strategy and compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

: Manage the accounting services function including general accounting, payables/receivables, and cash management. Prepare monthly center reviews, providing financial insights to business growth trends and profitability in assigned area. Serve as the lead point of contact for accounting/finance matters specific to locations. Ensure the timely and successful delivery of solutions according to assigned center needs and objectives. Assist with challenging requests or issue escalations as needed. Assist with the design and implementation of account reconciliations. Assist with the preparation and review of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations. Ensure the center’s accounting processes and systems comply with company policies, applicable regulations, and provide required information. Evaluate current accounting processes and procedures and make improvements while ensuring that centers comply with organization accounting policies and applicable laws and regulations. Use computer software for research, audit, and analysis of business data to help identify and understand opportunities to improve processes and outcomes. Investigate and resolve anomalies and unusual trends. Assist with the preparation of schedules for audited financial statements. Prepare, analyze, and present recommendations on financial forecasts, future trends, and the impact to operational goals and objectives impacting both short- and long-term financial objectives. Act as liaison for CPA firm preparing business and individual partner tax returns. Reconcile and manage partner equity accounts. Supervise and mentor the accounting team, including accounts payable/receivable professionals, staff accountants and other personnel.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including at least 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; Master’s degree or CPA preferred. Previous work experience with a health care related organization a plus. Previous work experience in an accounting department with high transaction volume. Multi-company and inter-company accounting experience preferred. Experience preparing and reviewing a high volume of account reconciliations. Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct) Advanced Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, etc.) Extensive knowledge of GAAP. Analytical and organizational skills to manage large amounts of data. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Team management, coaching, mentoring, and training skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High degree of professionalism. Ability to prioritize work.
