We deliver data-driven solutions and insights powered by our proprietary data assets, technology platforms, and analytics capabilities. We are currently seeking a Controller to join our team in Durham, NC . This role will oversee the company’s accounting operations and financial reporting, support strategic financial planning, and ensure the integrity of financial systems and controls. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and fixed assets Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and prepare internal and external financial statements Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal controls Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency Partner with senior leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and analysis Manage relationships with external auditors, tax professionals, and other financial service providers Monitor cash flow and working capital, and prepare reports and projections Supervise and mentor bookkeeping and accounting staff; ensure timely execution of day-to-day accounting tasks Evaluate and improve financial systems, including accounting software (Sage 100) and reporting tools Provide insights and recommendations to support business decision-making Maintain accurate, audit-ready records in accordance with GAAP and internal policies Serve as day-to-day point of contact for out-sourced PEO (HR) provider. Maintain employee records in PEO system and process biweekly payroll. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years of industry experience in a controller or senior accounting role; some public accounting experience preferred Deep knowledge of GAAP and experience with financial reporting and compliance Hands-on experience with accounting software — proficiency in Sage 100 is highly desirable Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with uncompromising and meticulous attention to detail High level of integrity, accuracy, and accountability Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment with multiple priorities Why Join DDG?
