The Controller will work closely with plant leadership to support strategic initiatives and ensure financial accuracy and accountability across production operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Oversight:

Lead the development of plant-level budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans. Track key cost drivers, analyze production spend, and provide cost improvement recommendations. Oversee analysis of inventory valuation, material usage, and overhead allocation. Support cross-functional initiatives through financial modeling and scenario planning.

Operational Accounting and Compliance:

Manage all aspects of plant accounting including general ledger, receivables, payables, and fixed assets. Ensure month-end and year-end close processes are timely, accurate, and in accordance with corporate policy. Maintain compliance with applicable financial regulations, including GAAP and internal policies. Assist in capital investment evaluation and provide ROI and payback analyses.

Internal Controls and Reporting:

Establish and monitor internal controls over financial transactions and reporting. Prepare monthly performance summaries and dashboards for executive stakeholders. Conduct root cause analyses for variances and recommend corrective actions where needed. Partner with auditors and ensure audit readiness for internal and external reviews.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

Supervise and mentor finance staff at the plant location. Foster a culture of accountability, process improvement, and financial discipline. Work closely with plant managers, HR, operations, and supply chain to ensure aligned decision-making. Provide finance-based insight for continuous improvement and efficiency projects.

Qualifications:
Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial management within a manufacturing or production-based setting. Prior leadership or supervisory experience over a finance team. Hands-on experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with internal control frameworks and regulatory compliance (e.g., SOX).

Preferred:

CPA designation or equivalent credential. Background in public accounting or experience in a publicly traded company. Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies. Strong knowledge of federal and state tax rules is a plus. Proficiency in financial presentation and executive-level reporting.
