Director of Finance Direct Services Group Holdings 1029 South Marietta Street, Gastonia, NC 28054 Direct controllership of the activities of the accounting department ensuring the accurate and timely creation and dissemination of financial management reports including internal & external monthly financial statements Maintain general ledger responsibilities for monthly closing activities Maintain and utilize specialized knowledge of accounting principles and practices related to construction management or professional services Ensure proper billing for all divisions including the submission of AIA progressive billing invoices Oversee the activities of the disbursements department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and payroll Oversee the activities of the accounts receivables to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings and cash receipts applications Oversee compliance for licensing, customer, subcontractor and vendor onboarding and account maintenance Collaborate with external Tax CPA’s to assure corporate State and Federal income tax returns are timely filed Manage regulatory and lender reporting, including tax planning and compliance Act as key point of contact for customers, vendors and business partners Work with CFO and leadership teams in the establishment and monitoring of operating budgets Drive process improvements, keep abreast of new finance and accounting trends and developments, and identify and implement internal controls Monitor and lead the implementation of new accounting standards as they are required Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports vital to the decision-making process Manage and develop accounting, procurement, and office staff, monitoring employee performance and training. Summary In the role of Director of Finance, you will oversee the financial operations of the organization, ensuring fiscal responsibility and compliance with GAAP and IFRS standards. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will utilize your core skills in financial management and report interpretation to guide strategic planning and risk management initiatives. Your premium expertise in corporate accounting and regulatory reporting will be essential in driving business development. Additionally, your relevant skills in investment management and general ledger reconciliation will support the organization’s financial health and long-term success. Qualifications Proven experience in fiscal management and financial report writing Strong understanding of GAAP and financial accounting principles CPA certification preferred Expertise in general ledger reconciliation and management reporting Knowledge of risk management and strategic planning Familiarity with financial software and investment management practices Ability to interpret financial reports and analyze profit & loss statements 5+ years of previous Controllership / Office Mgmt. experience is required. CPA is preferred. Industry experience in Construction Management or Professional Services is preferred. Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required. Job costing experience and understanding of contract billing, AIA. Demonstrates high level of attention to detail and strong time management skills.
