Controller Position Available In Iredell, North Carolina

Description We are seeking a Controller to join our team, based in Mooresville, North Carolina. This role is integral to our operations, focusing on maintaining accurate financial records, processing applications, and ensuring the smooth running of our accounting functions. This is a contract to permanent employment opportunity in the racing industry.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
• Manage the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives
• Use hands-on accounting knowledge and experience to oversee a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles
• Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines
• Leverage familiarity with Quickbooks Online and Sage Intacct to ensure efficient financial operations
• Lead the integration of new acquisitions into the company’s accounting systems
• Assist in the development and implementation of budget processes for the company
• Conduct detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents, expenditures, and investments
• Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape
• Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines
• Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective action
• Help with the preparation of month-end close procedures and documentation. Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably as a Controller
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is mandatory
• Demonstrated ability to oversee all accounting functions
• Proven experience in conducting audits and ensuring compliance with accounting standards
• Expertise in managing and implementing budget processes
• Knowledge of Accounting Control procedures and guidelines
• Experience in handling Month End Close operations
• Proven ability in managing Acquisition Integration
