We are seeking a driven Controller to lead our financial operations, ensure robust internal controls, and drive operational excellence across our dealership. This is a pivotal role, responsible for maintaining the integrity of our financial reporting, protecting company assets, and guaranteeing compliance with both manufacturer and management company standards. Key Responsibilities Oversee and ensure the accurate recording of all daily bank deposits, including ACH and wire transactions Perform daily reconciliation of all bank accounts to maintain financial accuracy and integrity Post standard monthly journal entries by the 15th of each month and maintain fixed asset schedules in alignment with the general ledger Supervise and mentor office staff, ensuring timely and consistent completion of all tasks Prepare comprehensive financial reports for management and department heads as needed File all required tax reports (sales, lease, tire, TPP, etc.) accurately and on time Lead timely and precise month-end closings and submit financial statements in accordance with company and manufacturer requirements Maintain and review all accounting schedules and complete reconciliations for floorplan, reserves, bank accounts, accounts payable, and manufacturer statements Ensure finance product contracts (warranty, GAP, etc.) are processed and remitted each month Process accounts payable checks by the 15th of every month and recommend process improvements for office efficiency Meet weekly with managers to review expenses, open deals, receivables, and incentive claims Support the CFO and leadership team in preparing annual budgets and strategic plans Reconcile monthly parts schedules and coordinate monthly physical inventories with the CFO and Variable Operations Director Oversee title work processing and ensure accuracy and timeliness in all vehicle inventory stocking and retail delivery entries Guarantee timely posting of all vehicle, service, parts, and body shop transactions Monitor work-in-progress (WIP), ensuring repair orders and parts tickets are closed within acceptable timelines Reconcile monthly vehicle physical inventory with sales managers and the general ledger Issue monthly accounts receivable statements (including intercompany) and manage collections follow-up Review and reconcile WIP monthly to maintain accurate records Qualifications Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Automotive Controller or in a similar senior accounting role within the dealership environment Strong working knowledge of CDK DMS (PayCom experience is a plus) Exceptional attention to detail and proven leadership abilities Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced dealership setting Benefits Comprehensive health, dental, and supplemental insurance options 401(k) plan with company match Significant opportunities for career advancement within a supportive and expanding automotive group Enjoy a vibrant lifestyle near the beautiful Carolinas’ mountains and coastlines If you are ready to bring your expertise and leadership to a thriving dealership group, apply today and take the next step in your career!
