Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is a long-term contract position offering an opportunity to lead and oversee critical accounting functions for a growing organization. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of expertise in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and optimizing processes for efficiency and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Manage the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Supervise inventory accounting to maintain precise records and valuations.
- Lead treasury activities, including banking relationships and cash flow management.
- Provide guidance to a small team on daily accounting tasks and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Develop, implement, and monitor budgets to align with organizational goals.
- Utilize Sage 100 to manage accounting processes effectively and ensure accurate data entry.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in financial reporting.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support system integrations and process enhancements. Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting processes.
- Proficiency in using Sage 100 or similar accounting software.
- Demonstrated experience with inventory accounting and reconciliation.
- Expertise in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes.
- Solid understanding of treasury activities, including cash flow management and banking operations.
- Exceptional organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
