Description:

The Senior Accountant plays a key role on the accounting team. This position reports directly to the Controller and is integral to ensuring accurate and timely payments to vendors, managing capital assets, and driving operational efficiency. As a leading member of the Accounting team, you will be influential to maintaining the financial integrity of the company. As the lead on the Accounts Payable team, you will be responsible for fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high ethical standards within the group. There is potential for advancement within the Corporation.

Responsibilities:

Lead the Accounts Payable Team, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks Close and Reconcile assigned accounts for month end close Calculate and file accurate sales, use, property, and business taxes Administer fixed asset accounting, ensuring accurate records and maintaining the fixed asset system Maintain and enhance accounting processes, seek process improvements, and keep documentation of procedures updated Execute key accounting tasks alongside team leadership duties Provide clear guidance to the team, maintaining high standards Ensure the integrity and effectiveness of internal financial controls Handle ad-hoc requests diligently, accurately, and in a timely manner

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA preferred but not required. Working knowledge of GAAP Minimum 3 years of accounting experience. Public accounting audit experience preferred but not required. Experienced with software for accounting and fixed assets Advanced proficiency in Excel Strong analytical skills Ability to work independently to solve problems and operate in a multi-tasking environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
