Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our client’s growing accounting team. This role will play a critical part in supporting the monthly close process and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within a manufacturing environment, with expertise in cost accounting, intercompany reconciliations, and month-end processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and review month-end journal entries and accruals to ensure accurate financial reporting Conduct intercompany reconciliations , identifying and resolving discrepancies across entities Manage and support the month-end close process , ensuring timely and accurate completion Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reports for internal stakeholders Maintain and improve cost accounting processes , including inventory valuation and variance analysis Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries Assist with budgeting and forecasting as needed Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in reporting

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CMA a plus) 7+ years of progressive accounting experience , preferably in a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of cost accounting , inventory, and manufacturing operations Proven experience with month-end close processes and journal entry preparation Proficient in intercompany reconciliations and consolidations Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis) Excellent organizational and communication skills Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
