Summary We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our dynamic accounting and finance team at Aetrex, located in Teaneck, NJ. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing financial operations and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while supporting our mission to create the healthiest shoes you’ll ever wear. Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual financial close and financial statements – reports directly to VP of Finance and Accounting. Management of all accounting process, including General Accounting, Inventory Reconciliation, Fixed Assets and Accounts Payable with additional involvement with Commissions, Purchasing and Warehouse operations Analyze monthly P&L for ongoing control of expenses and maximization of revenue Review various inventory account reconciliations and prepare cost accounting entries Analyze financial information supplied by various operating departments for accuracy Develop key management reports and analysis to identify potential issues and highlight results, support Sales and Marketing teams with financial and margin information Maintain KPIs to measure and ensure visibility of the performance of operations Manage the relationship of external auditors and lead the coordination of annual audit and address findings as they arise Independently manage multiple projects simultaneously, including supervision of staff Provide ad hoc support to others as projects arise within the Finance Organization Seek opportunities for automation, efficiency, reduce human intervention, and improved controls Candidate Qualifications Accounting Degree and 10+ years of general accounting experience. Strong understanding of General Accounting concepts and GAAP Compliance Above average proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical and data gathering skills Comfort dealing with ambiguity and manipulation of large amounts of data Experience with Inventory and Cost accounting concepts a plus Self-starter who can learn quickly and motivate others Ability to be a team leader. Experience working in a small to medium size manufacturing business environment Highly energized team player with an ability to operate effectively in a family-owned organization
