Finance and Accounting Job Summary :

The Controller will oversee the organization’s financial reporting, accounting operations and internal controls. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional analytical skills who can manage financial data, provide insightful recommendations and ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

Accounting Operations:

Manage the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger. Ensure timely and accurate closing of monthly, quarterly and annual books. Oversee cash management and banking activities.

Financial Reporting:

Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow reports. Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Develop and manage the annual budgeting process. Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis. Collaborate with leadership to develop financial strategies.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations, including tax filings and audits. Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud. Coordinate and manage relationships with auditors and tax advisors. Develop and maintain relationships with banking, insurance and employee benefit providers.

Leadership and Team Management:

Supervise, mentor and develop the accounting team. Establish and monitor performance metrics for the department. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational efficiency. 6.

Strategic Planning:

Support executive leadership with financial insights for strategic decision-making. Evaluate and recommend cost-saving and profit-enhancing initiatives. Assist with mergers, acquisitions and other strategic business transactions.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (Master’s degree or MBA). CPA certification preferred. Proven experience in accounting/finance, with 5+ years in a leadership role. Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
