Controller Position Available In Essex, New Jersey

Description Our client, a non-profit based in Newark, NJ is currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Controller on a contract basis. The Controller will be responsible for designing and maintaining essential fiscal controls, maintaining strong accounting/reporting processes, interpreting financial data, and producing financial statements. The Controller will also be directly involved with handling the monthly close process, managing a small staff, and liaising among various leadership groups to ensure fiscal and budgetary responsibility. The ideal Controller will have recent experience working in the non-profit sector, will be tech savvy, and will have good communication skills. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or auditing.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Windows, and Access.
• Proven ability to develop and train teams in financial processes and reporting.
• Exceptional organizational and team collaboration skills.
• Strong understanding of internal control systems and financial statement preparation.
• Experience in non-profit accounting is highly preferred.
