• Hybrid work Plescia Construction & Development is seeking a highly organized, energetic, and responsive Controller to oversee and streamline our financial operations.

This individual will play a critical role in managing the company’s accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting our transition from Excel-based tracking to Sage 300.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable & Payable Management

• Oversee invoicing, collections, and vendor payments to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions. QuickBooks Data Entry
• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions within QuickBooks. Job Costing
• Track and analyze project costs to ensure financial efficiency and profitability. Sage 300 Transition
• Lead the transition from Excel-based tracking to Sage 300, ensuring a smooth and efficient implementation. Check Issuance & Lien Waiver Processing
• Manage payments to subcontractors and vendors while ensuring compliance with lien waiver requirements. W9 Collection
• Ensure all required tax documentation is properly collected and maintained. Payroll Coordination
• Work closely with a third-party payroll provider to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. Insurance Coordination & Audit Responses
• Manage insurance compliance, certificates, and respond to audit requests as needed. Accounting & Year-End Coordination
• Collaborate with an external accounting firm to facilitate quarterly and year-end financial reporting.

Qualifications & Skills:

Proven experience in construction accounting, job costing, and financial management. Proficiency in QuickBooks and experience with Sage 300 (or a willingness to learn). Strong understanding of lien waivers, payroll processing, and tax documentation. Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Effective communication skills and responsiveness in a fast-paced environment.
