Position Summary
The Plant Controller is responsible for providing financial support to the site by maintaining a detailed understanding of site costs and cost drivers to identify opportunities and risks. The Plant Controller will leverage finance tools and processes to drive clarity of results that inform operations leadership and promote business acumen. Additionally, the Plant Controller will create a strong controls environment with a focus on accurately representing site costs and highlighting opportunities for cost improvement.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provides financial leadership to the site operating team and provides insight on all manner of product cost and other items materially impacting profit.
- Responsible for monthly close activities including investigating and understanding variances along with Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Liaise with Supply Chain and outsourced third-party A/P provider.
- Provides leadership on inventory and cost management.
- Consistently demonstrates active financial leadership by partnering with cross-functional partners within Supply Chain, Operations, Sales etc. in driving business results and meeting business objectives.
- Lead initiatives to improve the transparency, quality, and timeliness of financial data.
- Develop and deploy process improvements to streamline efforts and improve accuracy.

Essential Responsibilities (cont.)
- Responsible for the accuracy of the standard costs starting with the bill of materials and item costs, labor routings, labor rates, as well as overhead assignments.
- Drives efficiency and process improvement by continuously challenging the status quo.
- Analyze and report manufacturing variances and determine corrective action requirements.
- Ensures items are correctly classified and all reporting is prepared in accordance with GAAP.
- Supports cost savings programs toward driving productivity.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications & Requirements - Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance.
- Prior plant controller experience or equivalent cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts with expertise in Cost Accounting, Financial Statements, and GAAP.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and sharp analytical skills.
- Ability to effectively interact, influence, and communicate with multiple levels of the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Well organized with ability to prioritize and self-manage workload to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications - Demonstrated success being accountable for results.
- Highly motivated self-starter with a desire to win and an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Ability to analyze and interpret the financial impact of matters affecting the site and provide input for resolving/improving these matters.
- High level of knowledge of financial and ERP systems – Epicor ERP experience preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time and an air-conditioned and heated office. The noise level is occasionally high.
