Controller 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars Clarence, NY 14031 We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Clarence, New York. This role is pivotal in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting procedures, and supporting the organization’s growth through effective financial management. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in accounting systems and reporting, along with the ability to collaborate with external partners.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and maintain the accuracy of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries to ensure clean balance sheets and profit and loss statements. Manage accounts payable functions, including timely vendor and subcontractor payments. Administer and troubleshoot QuickBooks Enterprise and QuickBooks Online systems, ensuring seamless daily operations. Train team members on the effective use of QuickBooks Enterprise and QuickBooks Online applications. Collaborate with external stakeholders such as CPAs, banks, auditors, and other financial partners to support organizational needs. Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports and ad-hoc analyses to provide insights into organizational performance. Reconcile balance sheet accounts, fixed assets, commissions, and adjusting entries to maintain accurate financial records. Review and approve subcontractor invoices, addressing disputes or discrepancies as necessary. Proven experience in accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger management. Expertise in QuickBooks Enterprise and QuickBooks Online systems, including installation, updates, and troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of auditing processes and budget preparation. Familiarity with month-end closing procedures and financial reporting. Ability to train and support staff in accounting software usage. Excellent communication skills for liaising with external financial partners. Detail-oriented and highly organized with a commitment to accuracy. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
