JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a proactive and analytical Controller to lead the financial management of Adaptec Solutions. This role is essential in providing accurate financial reporting, supporting project performance analysis, and partnering with operational leaders to drive profitability and business insight. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in financial analysis, cost control, and percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting, with a focus on systems integration or engineered solutions.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, project accounting, revenue recognition, and financial reporting. + Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations and report preparation. + Support operational leaders and project managers with financial insight into project performance, margins, and cost drivers. + Conduct detailed financial analysis including variance analysis, margin reporting, and performance tracking across departments and service lines. + Monitor and report on key financial metrics (e.g., gross margin, backlog, utilization, revenue recognition timing) to support strategic planning and day-to-day decision-making. + Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes. + Support external audits, tax reporting, and compliance initiatives. + Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and establish the proper techniques to discover and prevent fraud. + Assist with compilation of information for preparation of all tax returns. + Hiring, training and supervising accounting staff. EXPERIENCE

+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. + Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or certified public accountant (CPA), a plus. + Experience working in a small to medium manufacturing company, preferred. + Ten years of experience, preferred. + Five years of supervisory experience, preferred.

SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE JOB

+ Solid communication, technology, and analytical abilities. + Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems required. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and V-Lookups + Self-motivated and driven professional. + Exceptional analytical skills + Experience with reconciling accounts and researching variances. + Work closely and effectively with multiple levels of the organization. + Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate (both verbal and written) and manage well at all levels of the organization. + High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines. + Be a team player with a positive attitude. + Must possess a desire to advance your knowledge base and career. + Detail oriented and excellent organizational and multitasking skills. + Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines. In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the wage range for this role is$125,000 – 140,000.The rate range provided is a general guideline.
