We are seeking an ambitious, high-energy Corporate Controller with 10-15 years of progressive experience in accounting, operational finance, and financial analysis. This leader will be responsible for the leadership, development and execution of the company’s corporate accounting function. This is a hands-on leadership role that will lead the monthly close process and ensure timely preparation of accurate financial statements. This individual will be a self-starter who takes initiative, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a proven ability to lead teams and drive performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Reporting Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of consolidated financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow). Oversee all general ledger functions, intercompany transactions, and consolidation across multiple entities and manufacturing sites. Manage AR/AP and treasury functions to ensure compliance with internal policies and cash flow optimization. Coordinate audits, ensure compliance with internal controls, and maintain SOX or GAAP compliance as required. Manufacturing & Cost Accounting Oversee standard cost development, absorption costing, and analysis of variances (labor, material, and overhead). Monitor and reconcile inventory valuation, physical inventory processes, and cycle counts across production sites. Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to improve cost control, scrap reduction, and throughput reporting. Analyze plant and SKU-level profitability, margin trends, and operational KPIs to support pricing and investment decisions. Drive implementation of cost-saving initiatives and process improvements tied to financial outcomes. Team Leadership & Development Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, establishing a culture of accountability, urgency, and high performance. Build team capabilities through coaching, cross-training, and succession planning. Establish clear KPIs for finance personnel and promote continuous improvement in reporting and controls. ERP Systems & Operational Integration Ensure seamless integration between ERP (Microsoft Dynamics) and plant systems for inventory, production, and purchasing data. Support ERP upgrades, automation projects, and implementation of manufacturing modules or financial tools. Cross-Functional Partnership Act as a strategic partner to plant managers, operations, and logistics teams to align financial goals with production performance. Participate in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) and CAPEX review processes. Lead root cause analysis and financial modeling for manufacturing issues such as yield loss, downtime, and bottlenecks.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred. 10-15 years of accounting and finance experience, with a minimum of 5 years in manufacturing, distribution or product development environments. Demonstrated experience managing teams and improving cross-functional finance processes. Proactive and energetic leader with strong business acumen and an analytical mindset. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics or equivalent). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
