Authority Brands is seeking an accomplished Director of FP&A to lead financial planning, analysis, and strategic support for three high-growth business areas: 1. Trades Brands – national franchise networks in the HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and restoration sectors 2. Company-Owned Franchise Locations – a portfolio of geographically diverse operating units in the Trades sectors 3. Scale Operations – centralized procurement and payments processing supporting the broader Authority Brands network This highly visible role reports to the SVP of Finance and partners closely with brand presidents, general managers, and executive leaders. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach to financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning. They are equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves to build models and reporting from the ground up as they are guiding and delegating to a high-performing team. This individual excels at working cross-functionally with senior leadership and key stakeholders to drive financial performance and support critical business decisions. Key Responsibilities Lead the annual operating plan, quarterly reforecasting, and long-range strategic models across assigned segments. Build and maintain dynamic, driver-based financial models that reflect seasonality, technician productivity, pricing changes, and cost trends. Provide decision support and financial analysis for strategic initiatives, including market expansions, new service lines, technology investments, and vendor negotiations. Develop and monitor KPIs and performance dashboards to track results and identify areas for margin improvement. Analyze labor efficiency, cost optimization, service mix, and COGS trends to inform operational decisions. Prepare monthly business reviews, variance analyses, and materials for investor and lender reporting. Translate complex financial data into actionable insights and clear narratives for executives and functional stakeholders. Mentor and manage a high-performing FP&A team; foster professional development and analytical excellence. Drive process improvements and automation in budgeting, reporting, and forecasting using tools such as NetSuite, Hyperion EPM, Excel, and BI/automation tools. Establish consistent planning and reporting frameworks across diverse businesses to scale operations efficiently. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field 7+ years of progressive FP&A or strategic finance experience, preferably in multi-unit services, franchising, or private equity-backed environments Outstanding analytical skills and a high degree of intellectual curiosity, with ability to analyze and interpret large volumes of data to draw actionable conclusions and make business recommendations Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once and effectively prioritize mission-critical initiatives Strong leadership presence, and great communication skills with the ability to present their views in a clear and compelling manner, both orally and in writing with all levels within the organization Proficient in financial modeling and reporting software (e.g., Excel, Hyperion/EPM).
