Job Summary:
IAIC is seeking a proactive, strategic and results-driven Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) with deep expertise in the insurance industry , particularly in Risk-Based Capital (RBC) and Best&s Capital Adequacy Ratio (BCAR) frameworks. This leadership role will oversee the FP&A function, guiding financial strategy, capital planning, and performance analytics to support executive decision-making and ensure regulatory and rating agency compliance.

$170,000 to $190,000, plus bonus
Main Responsibilities:
Lead the FP&A function, including budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and performance analysis across the enterprise. Model, Assist and advise strategic capital planning initiatives, including RBC and BCAR modeling, scenario analysis, and capital optimization strategies. Oversee the development of financial models and dashboards to support real-time decision-making and strategic planning. Serve as a key liaison with regulators, rating agencies, and auditors on capital adequacy and financial performance matters. Present financial insights and recommendations to the VP Finance, Board of Directors, executive committees. Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and rating agency methodologies to proactively manage capital strategy. Mentor and develop a high-performing FP&A team, fostering a culture of analytical excellence and continuous improvement. Exposure to executive leadership to evaluate business performance, investment opportunities, and risk-adjusted returns. Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, and enterprise risk management teams to assess capital adequacy and solvency. Drives continuous improvement, by leveraging technology to design and implement solutions that will enable process re-imagination and changes the way they work. Provides framework to evaluate opportunities for growth, expansion, and new revenue streams. Designs and develops models for purposes of forecasting, allocating data, and steering decision support for partnerships and investments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor&s degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or a related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA strongly preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A or financial leadership roles within the insurance industry. Demonstrated expertise in Risk-Based Capital (RBC), BCAR, and capital adequacy frameworks. Proven track record of influencing executive decision-making through financial insights and strategic analysis. Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data visualization tools (eg, Excel, Power BI, SQL). Deep understanding of statutory accounting principles and insurance financial statements. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with NAIC reporting, AM Best rating processes, and regulatory capital filings. Familiarity with reinsurance structures and their impact on capital and solvency. Proficiency with enterprise performance management (EPM) platforms such as Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, or Hyperion.
