THE ROLE

Wip is rewriting the rules of energy-and we need a sharp, strategic operator to help us scale with focus, discipline, and ambition. As Director, Strategic Finance, you’ll work directly with the CEO to architect, execute, and optimize the company’s most important initiatives-commercial strategy, financial planning, capital deployment, and organizational focus. You’ll help shape Wip’s roadmap, lead cross-functional execution, and ensure the company is building in a way that’s both aggressive and smart. You’ll apply a deep quantitative lens to every decision, turning complex problems into clear frameworks and insights that drive performance. From go-to-market planning to business model refinement and investor strategy, this role sits at the nerve center of the business. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for someone who thrives on turning strategy into action-and has the financial fluency, analytical rigor, and operating instincts to help build a generational brand with long-term value.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategic Planning & Organizational Alignment Serve as a trusted thought partner to the CEO across all business topics-bringing structure, challenge, and strategic clarity. Lead development of Wip’s corporate strategic roadmap, including three-year planning, annual plans, and company-level priorities. Integrate and align all functional areas around a single strategic agenda with clearly defined milestones and interdependencies. Establish operating frameworks and decision-making processes to improve company-wide focus, prioritization, and execution. Partner with leaders across Sales, Marketing, Product, People, and other functions to embed Wip’s vision, values, and growth mindset into daily operations. Execution & Cross-Functional Leadership Manage the operating rhythm of the business-ensuring that CEO strategic intent is reflected across leadership meetings, touch bases, internal communications, and board interactions. Proactively identify issues, risks, or blockers across teams and drive toward resolution with urgency and clarity. Lead or support critical cross-functional initiatives that require fast, strategic execution and tight coordination. “Wear many hats” across the business as needed-flexing between strategic planning, operating support, and hands-on problem solving. Financial Planning & Business Analytics Build and maintain robust financial models across the business, including P&L forecasts, cash flow planning, unit economics, and contribution margin analysis. Track, analyze, and report key performance metrics and business goals-creating dashboards and processes that enable data-driven decisions. Bring a quantitative lens to everything: rigorously evaluate opportunities, assess trade-offs, and optimize for growth, margin, and capital efficiency. Commercial Strategy & Growth Optimization Partner with cross-functional teams to define and execute Wip’s commercialization roadmap-across pricing, channel strategy, product mix, and launch sequencing. Ensure go-to-market initiatives are grounded in financial logic and optimized for velocity, margin, and brand impact. Help shape performance management systems that allow the company to iterate, learn, and scale with confidence. Board Strategy & Capital Deployment Support the CEO in managing board strategy, including meeting agendas, decks, strategic memos, and alignment of internal and external narratives. Help define and evaluate capital deployment strategies that support growth and long-term value creation. Ensure operational planning is aligned with broader strategic objectives and positioned for future optionality.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required. MBA preferred. 5 to 10 years of experience in strategy, management consulting, private equity, or related role, ideally within consumer goods and retail industries. Experience with an early-stage growth company a plus. Proven expertise in strategic thinking, complex problem-solving, and decision-making. Strong business and financial acumen, with deep analytical capabilities. Experience preparing executive-level presentations and working with senior leadership teams. Strong interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels and drive alignment on strategic priorities. Executive presence and business intuition. Intellectual curiosity and critical thinking, with ability to connect disparate concepts, information, and signals.
