Salary Range:
$175,000 – $185,000 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Campus Services and Operations Financial Services, the Executive Director will provide leadership for all elements of Accounting and Finance initiatives for the Residential Operations, Transportation, Central & Student Mail, Print Services, Real Estate and other administrative departments. Responsibilities Collaborates with members of the Facilities and Operations Executive Staff on financial strategy, operating budgets and targets, financial models for new projects, and financial analysis. Directs the coordination and timely submission of financial reporting deliverables including Budgets, Headcount, Monthly Flash Reports, Quarterly Close, and Fiscal Year Close. Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures that will improve the overall effectiveness of the division and oversees the implementation of all University financial initiatives for the division. Evaluates the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group and provides individuals with professional and personal growth. Ensures that all divisional accounting and finance policies are consistent with University policies. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; advance degree strongly preferred 10 years of experience with increasing responsibility in the university, government, or not-for-profit sectors Excellent analytical, presentation, oral, and written communication skills are required The ability to take initiative and work independently is necessary Must possess strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and practical problem-solving abilities Excellent communication, written, presentation, quantitative, and interpersonal skills required Equal Opportunity Employer / Disability / Veteran Columbia University is committed to the hiring of qualified local residents.
