This opportunity sits in our New York office working for Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB), the division of Westpac, which services the needs of our corporate, institutional, and governmental clients. How will I help? Customer Insights & Analytics (CI&A) is responsible for preparation of high-quality analysis and credit submissions to support sustainable great credit decisions, delivery of best-in-class customer and industry insights to differentiate our sales proposition, and portfolio risk management within a wholesale banking environment. CI&A consists of specialist teams (reporting into the Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) coverage operating model) who manage wholesale customers within defined industry verticals and/or sub sector hubs. These hubs are structured to optimise industry and customer expertise and insight globally, while embedding decision making and aligning analyst resourcing to appropriate complexity. CI&A is focused on the creation and maintenance of a framework to ensure there is genuine collaboration and information sharing across the Westpac Group and continuous improvement in processes and practices for customer and industry risk management Key responsibilities will include: Based in New York, the Senior Associate or Associate Director will be a member of the FI and NBFI analyst team and a member of the global Financial Institutions & Government CI&A team reporting to the Director, CI&A, Corporate & Institutional Banking, International based in New York, USA. The primary focus of this role will be: To prepare credit submissions including detailed risk analysis, assessment and recommendations for Fund Finance/Subscription Finance secured transactions; be able to present and assist credit submissions through WIB’s risk management decision process. In addition, coverage of other corporate/NBFI customers relevant to the specific geography may be required from time to time. To assist the team covering a portfolio of existing and new to bank FI, NBFI and Financial Sponsor coverage clients focus on subscription finance and Financial Markets product related exposures; including but not limited to performing transaction due diligence, monitoring and tracking of transaction and portfolio exposure, as well as covenant review and testing. Contribute to research of market trends and development of geographic industry insights to key stakeholders in conjunction with our global industry sector leads in CI&A. What’s in it for me? Fixed compensation range for this position is between $140,000 + $205,000 depending on experience + bonus and benefits. What do I need? Applying credit risk acumen to support the maintenance, development and growth of our Northern Hemisphere NBFI/FI and Financial Sponsor relationships while maintaining high credit standards Ensuring that all relevant aspects of the credit process, including required due diligence and ongoing monitoring, are properly executed covering both new to bank and existing customers. Undertaking various portfolio surveillance and monitoring activities as required About You

  • to be successful you will have the following: At least 4 years of experience in financial analysis.

Experience in subscription finance / capital call transactions (including familiarity with alternative investment structures and relevant documentation) is highly preferred. Familiarity with institutional credit approval processes; demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders including credit officers. Ability to work autonomously and meet required timelines. Must have high attention to detail; familiarity with Fund Finance operational procedure and process is highly desirable.
