Director of Treasury and Tax Location:
Hybrid – 3 days/week in
NYC Compensation:
$200,000-$250,000 base
Overview:
Thriving Financial Services firm is seeking an experienced finance professional to lead treasury and tax functions at a senior level. This role is responsible for managing liquidity, capital structure, tax compliance, and financial risk, while providing strategic financial guidance to support long-term business growth. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of hands-on technical expertise and leadership experience in both domestic and international contexts.
Key Responsibilities:
Treasury Management Design and implement strategies to optimize cash flow, liquidity, and working capital. Manage short- and long-term cash forecasting to ensure adequate operational funding. Oversee banking relationships, debt structures, and investment policies. Lead efforts to mitigate financial risks related to currency, interest rates, and market conditions. Ensure strong internal controls and compliance in all treasury operations. Tax Planning & Compliance Oversee planning and compliance for a broad range of taxes, including corporate, indirect, and transfer pricing. Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of tax filings across multiple jurisdictions. Develop and execute strategies to drive tax efficiency and reduce risk exposure. Manage tax audits, dispute resolutions, and coordination with external advisors and authorities. Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and evaluate potential business impacts. Strategic Leadership Partner with senior leadership on strategic initiatives such as mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings. Provide financial insights to support decision-making and enterprise risk management. Deliver regular reporting and analysis to executive stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline (CPA, CFA, or advanced degree preferred). 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate treasury and tax, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership capacity. Expertise in domestic and international tax regulations, financial instruments, and risk management. Strong proficiency with financial systems, ERP platforms, and treasury/tax tools. Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional projects and teams.
Preferred:
Background in a multinational or publicly listed organization. Experience in M&A-related tax strategy and global transfer pricing. Strong analytical mindset and excellent communication skills.
