OVERVIEW OF THE ASSISTANT CONTROLLER ROLE

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department with a focus on Accounts Payable. Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of tasks. Manage month-end close activities and preparation of financial statements. Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes. Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and regulatory filings (e.g., FFIEC, NCUA, FDIC). Work closely with the Controller to support strategic initiatives and special projects. Coordinate year-end audits and provide support during regulatory examinations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required 5+ years of accounting experience, including direct supervision of staff. Strong Accounts Payable experience, with a solid understanding of end-to-end AP processes. Background in the financial services industry strongly preferred. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. #
