Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Controller & Human Resource Administrator to oversee and manage PTI’s financial operations and support HR activities across three locations. This key leadership role requires a professional who is equally comfortable analyzing budgets and financial statements as they are coordinating employee support and benefits. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in accounting and compliance, paired with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, to help drive operational efficiency and foster a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
(75%)
- Lead day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance
- Manage and execute a timely and accurate month-end close process
- Prepare and analyze monthly and annual budgets, forecasts, and financial statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax filings, and audit requirements
- Monitor cash flow and advise management on financial strategy and resource planning
- Develop and enforce internal financial controls to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Oversee business insurance policies including general liability, cyber, benefits, and workers’ compensation
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
- Analyze cost structures and implement operational efficiency measures
Human Resource Administration:
(25%) Administer employee benefits programs and respond to related inquiries Coordinate HR training sessions and track employee participation and completion Maintain compliant and up-to-date employee records Lead the onboarding and orientation process for new hires Assist with recruitment by managing job postings, reviewing resumes, and scheduling interviews Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal company policies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. A Master’s degree or professional certification (such as a CPA) is preferred. HR experience or certification is a plus
- 5+ years of experience in accounting and financial management
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and relevant HR regulations and employment laws.
- Proficiency with accounting software; experience with Sage & Palocity strongly preferred
